Pegasus Blue (under 14) v Burton Joyce (under 14)

It took only 25 seconds for Pegasus to open the scoring, a slide rule pass by Billy Warburton to Adam Rice, who casually side footed the ball into the corner. Pegasus continued making chances, on 2 minutes Rice shot wide, 2 minutes later a Brady shot was well saved by the visiting keeper, then on 12 minutes a superb Gillard right wing cross found George Mole with the goal at his mercy, but fired wide. On 17 minutes it was 2 – 0, a sweeping right wing move, crossed by Gillard and finished confidently by James Cerutti. 2 minutes later Hopcroft had a golden chance from a long Rice throw, but his placed shot went the wrong side of the post. On 22 minutes the visitors pulled one back, the defence failed to clear a long ball and the score was 2 – 1. On 25 minutes Peggo extended their lead, Danny Gillard chased down what seemed a lost cause, crossed to the far post for the on-rushing James Cerutti to finish in style, 3 – 1. On 30 minutes Rice raced clear but shot wide, a minute later he did score after receiving a superb Lloyd-Jones pass, before dribbling past a defender and thumping the ball into the goal.

Half time: Pegasus Blue 4 Burton Joyce 1

Pegasus pressed from the 1st minute with a Lloyd–Jones pinpoint cross headed over. Then on 37 minutes a cross by Rice was deflected towards goal by Price, brushing the post. On 46 minutes 5 – 1, a move started and finished brilliantly by Ben Wright. On 36 minutes Hopcroft swivelled and shot wide, then 2 minutes later good work by Warburton finding Lloyd-Jones , he crossed to Stuart Skill, but his shot was superbly saved. On 50 minutes 6 – 1, a right wing cross, half cleared by the defence and volleyed in to the top corner from the edge of the box by Aaron Price. 2 minutes later Pegasus should have scored again, a great passing move down the left by Dunn and Skill before crossing to Brady 6 yards out, who blazed over. On 54 minutes the visitors had their only real chance of the second half but Bales raced from his goal, showing great bravery, diving at the strikers feet to block. 3 minutes later a long throw by Rice was volleyed just over by Hopcroft. On 58 minutes the same players combined - this time Hopcroft chipping through for Rice to blast home to make the score 7 – 1. On 60 minutes the score was 8 – 1, a surging run down the right by Hopcroft, his cross laid back by Rice, for Callum Gossling to fire into the corner from 15 yards. On 62 minutes Cerutti thundered a shot against the bar and Rice fired the rebound wide, 2 minutes later a long throw down the right to Rice, his cross found Gillard at the far post, the first time shot was well blocked by the keeper but left a simple tap in for Rice to make the score 9 – 1. On 66 minutes it was 10 to Pegasus, a beautiful pass by Gillard released Rice, through on goal again, he unleashed a missile in to the top corner. Another great performance by Pegasus.
